The Organisers of ELFM IV are delighted to announce that the call for extended abstracts for the Fourth Symposium on Enhanced Landfill Mining is now open (see website link here). ELFM IV will take place in Conference Centre LAMOT, Mechelen-Belgium (February 5-6, 2018) and will be followed by the Second ELFM Seminar in the European Parliament (February 7, 2018).
ELFM IV Sessions
The Symposium consists of four major sessions:
- Geophysics, remediation and (pre)processing technologies
- Thermal valorisation technologies
- Upcycling technologies
- Multi-criteria assessment
Invited & Regular Speakers
ELFM IV provides the floor to a host of both Invited Speakers (with keynote lectures/papers) and Regular Speakers (through the present call for extended abstracts) to shed light on the recent progress in both the technological and non-technological aspects of ELFM within the wider circular economy context. Several Invited Speakers provide review/position papers on the status of key ELFM domains, such as geophysical methods for landfill exploration, state-of-the-art sorting technologies, solar and plasma gasification, multi-criteria assessment results of ELFM projects etc. As such the audience receives a comprehensive overview of the wide ELFM research and innovation domain. Regular Speakers contribute through novel research results and specific case-study reports.
Call for extended abstracts (for Regular Speakers)
By May 30, 2017, both Oral Presenters and Poster Presenters are invited to submit a one-page extended abstract (max. 2,500 characters, incl. spaces) through the INDICO electronic form provided here. Presenters indicate the Session they want to be involved in (see list of Session and Topics here) and indicate if they want to present orally and/or through a Poster. Participants will be notified about their contribution by June 30, 2017 (decision: 1. Oral Presentation, 2. Poster Presentation, or 3. Not Accepted – decision made by the Scientific Committee).
Papers
All accepted Presenters (both Oral and Poster Presenters) are then invited to provide a 6-page paper in A4 format by November 10, 2017, which will be published in the official Symposium Proceedings together with the papers of the keynote speakers. The standard paper template will be provided in the near future. Strict adherence to the paper guidelines (e.g. figure/table caption and reference style) is obligatory. Submission of the manuscript is to be performed through the on-line submission tool.
